After successfully running over-forty restaurants across Turkey, the highly-established kebab restaurant and steakhouse Günaydin, has finally opened its doors to meat lovers in the UAE. Located on the waterfront promenade in Souk Al Bahar, Günaydin offers its guests a spectacular view of the Dubai Fountain and the Burj Khalifa. The interiors are just as grand with high ceilings, bold furnishings and a vibrant ambiance. So you can guess the excitement when I was asked to visit!!

Our food journey began with a few cold mezzes and some freshly baked bread. Tried really hard not to fill our stomach’s up right away! This was followed by the Kuşbaşili Pide (above photo). It reminds me of a pizza but a Turkish version with some very flavorsome toppings of minced meat.

Günaydin provides a unique kebab experience for its guests with a wide range of authentic Turkish cuisine. Both the meat and the chicken were succulent and grilled to perfection.

This place knows their meat! It is flavorful and packs in all the right punches. It has become by new favorite Turkish restaurant in Dubai for sure!

This dish was definitely the highlight of the evening. We watched in awe as Cüneyt Asan along with his sous chef prepared this plate of tender and juicy meat. Seriously! Did not even need a knife to cut through it!

And last but not least was dessert. Turkish ice-cream rolled into a Katmer pastry and sprinkled with pistachio. Even with a very full stomach, I couldn’t resist this. Definitely a must when you visit!

With more than 50 years of experience and well earned titles such as “Fastest Butcher in the World” and “The Professor of Meat”, Cüneyt Asan, was present through out our entire visit. Such a wonderful, down-to-earth and exuberant human being. Lucky to have spent an evening in his company!
