Breakfast is the most important meal of the day – at least I think so. When I got invited to Chival, I was excited to say the least. Coffee, pastries, eggs, pancakes…what’s not to love! Plus, it is located in City Walk and who needs an excuse to go there!
Isn’t this just too inviting? Minimal with just the right pop of color & decor – French windows everywhere that lets all the light in. Perfect setting for breakfast!
If y’all follow me on Instagram, you will see coffee all the time, every time! So, let us first begin with coffee served up at just the right temperature! (I’m a little picky about that).
If you decide to go with the buffet option, you have some decisions to make! Good ones 🙂 Where to start? What to have first? Sweet or savory? Hot or cold? They have it all!!
Doughnuts! Start here if you don’t mind this calorific extravaganza!!
Or well…. you could just go healthy. Lots of toppings and some real flavorsome honey to go with!
Alright! Back to the pastries! Hey, don’t judge! I don’t do this everyday!
I also really love the cold mezze section. These are portioned just right..enough to taste a few things without wasting. There is also a wide selection of cheese, dried fruits and bread.
No breakfast is complete without hot pancakes and waffles plus all the trimings. Indulge I say!
Chocolate fountain!!! This is something I have not seen anywhere for breakfast! Chocoholics – stop right here!
And you still want more? Then you can always choose from their extensive al a carte menu.
This acai smoothie bowl with apple, banana, chia-vanilla pudding, strawberries and granola – I could have everyday of the week.
One of my breakfast favorites – Shakshouka but with a slight Chival twist. Organic eggs, roasted aubergine, spicy tomato sauce and zaatar feta cheese! So, so good and enough for two to share.
Eggs and Gravlax – perfect pairing of scrambled organic eggs, home-cured salmon, cream cheese dill dip and toasted rye bread. Simple yet satisfying!
Vanilla buttermilk pancakes with caramelized bananas, berries and a good drizzle of maple syrup! Believe me, you won’t have any trouble wiping this plate clean!
The turmeric elixir is made with turmeric tonic, carrot, ginger and orange. I am used to adding turmeric to curries and not a big fan of having it otherwise… but I really liked this unusual drink – found it very refreshing too.
It is a bit hot to enjoy breakfast outdoors at the moment, but it would be perfect come cooler weather!
All in all a great place to enjoy really good food!
