Dinner a few nights ago at @kigo.dubai, the new Japanese restaurant at the @fsdubaidifc. The setting is calm and considered, without feeling too formal. The space feels thoughtful and minimal, with just the right amount of atmosphere.

They do two set menus — sushi or kaiseki — and we went for the kaiseki, which was a mix of seasonal dishes, some really delicate, some super rich and satisfying. It’s the kind of meal that flows nicely, course by course, and keeps you curious about what’s coming next. The menu comes from Head @chef_akinori — he’s got decades of kaiseki experience and clearly cares about every detail, from ingredient quality to plating.

Definitely not your average dinner out, but still relaxed and not over the top. Just good food, done right. Thank you to the entire team for a wonderful evening!

Haddad leans into stories of growing up in ’90s Dubai: food memories, flavor clashes, and cultural mash-ups. The refreshed menu delivers dish after dish that surprise and delight. Standouts include the new grilled cheese (but naturally), the dynamite 65 (we got two portions of this!), and the fattoush nam jim. And the Moonrise khubz, served with addictive butter on the side, will forever be a favorite.

The table-side steak is the star — all the drama, all the flavor, and even better with the crispy fried onion and mash potato on the side (trust me, don’t skip those). The scallop carpaccio is bright and delicate, the king crab is indulgent, and together they set the tone before the main event. Even the simple salad is addictive! For dessert, the peach Melba and the honey toast flambé are both gorgeously indulgent finales. The vibe ties it all together with a refined elegance!
